Swaranjali on 25th anniversary of Bhopal Gas Tragedy

On the occasion of the 25th anniversery of infamous Bhopal Gas Tragedy, a two day programme 'Swaranjali' was inaugurated on December 2 at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya.
Selected artists through their presenatations paid musical tribute to the Bhopal gas tragedy victims. Farukh Khan, the renowned Sarangi player and Tabla player Nefs Ahmed Khan, started the programme and gave classical musical performances at Vithi Sankul auditorium. India's first women Santoor player Shruti Adhikari also gave her excellent performace, with the help of Tabla player Ramendra Singh Solanki. Besides, Amita Sinha Mahapatre, one of the most famous singers of Bhopal also sang on this occasion where Akhilesh Gundcha also accompanied her on Pakhawaj. Arun morena presented Sitar recital, Himamshu Mahant accopanied him. On the occasion, selected artists of the city presented the special compositions of Gundecha brothers in the programme. This musical presentations based on raag Bhairvari, with the words 'prabhu meri vinti ur dhar lo'. The whole auditorium went musical with this programme. The auditorium was left spell bound with the melodious performances.
While on December 3, Munne Khan and Kadar Khan commenced the programme with Sarangi recital, Pravin Shivlekar violin recital, Abhay Fagare presented flute recital while Kalpana Jholkar and Shaswat Mangal Pal registered their presence with solo classical on second day of the programme.
